We Designed a Berlin Holiday Apartment

2016 UPDATE: Due to a law change in Berlin we no longer rent our studio – thanks to everyone for an amazing experience over the years!

We wanted to create a fun, colourful and unique space for Berlin visitors and are excited to launch our new recycled design holiday apartment, Home Made in Berlin.

It sleeps two people and is full of our own upcycled, remade and recycled furniture as well as recycled design from other Berlin designers.

What’s Inside …

• Cook and eat in the kitchen made from floorboards from Berlin and from the street a few houses down. Sleep in the bed, stuff your clothes in the boxes, keep your book on the bedside table, celebrate at the dining table, unwind in the armchairs and perch on the stools, all made by us from reclaimed Berlin floorboards.

• Hang your dress or suit on a billiard ball hook made by our friend Christoph available in Zwölfer and mix your salad or serve your pasta in a glass bowl which used to be the front of a washing machine, also available in Zwölfer. Read in bed by the light of Matthew Appleby’s Swan Beton lamps, an elegant object made with an illy coffee tin lid as the base and a poured concrete mould madefrom two plastic cups.

• Squeeze your lemons and make your coffee on wall tiles made by Berlin designer Dörte Ahlgrimm Design (not exactly recycled, but a unique idea designed in Berlin and made in Germany)

• Record your itinerary and travel notes or doodle the time away on the blackboard wall. We list our favourite local restaurants and cafes on a blackboard in the kitchen and in more detail on our blog.
